How do I use a remote control to trigger an action

Postby godubdub » Sun May 31, 2015 8:25 pm

I have a Aeon Minimote (remote control and can function as a secondary controller) Model DSA03202W

I'm trying to figure out how to use the buttons on the remote to trigger events for performing actions on the Z-control.

None of the options for events list the remote as a possible device.

Is there a way to use this remote with the Z-command?

Here's how to use the remote control with z-command:

* Pair the device you want to control with z-command.
* Pair the remote control with z-command.
* Program each button of the remote control according to the remote's instruction manual.

Once done, you can control the z-wave device associated with a button by pressing that button.

The remote control does not work with actions or events in z-command. When correctly configured, you press the button and the device you want to control gets the signal directly, but both the remote and the device must be on the same z-wave (z-command) network.
